Spotlight: Dead Dreams Booking & EYEHATEGOD

Welcome back to another weekly drop from the ZPLNERDS! This week we're going to be writing about a new event coordinator and show that is coming in the next few weeks! We're commited to helping our markets grow with a hands on approach and dedication to the event coordinators that believe in us. We've been working with some really neat talent buyers in the Florida market. One of those really neat talent buyers is Michael Weisneck with Dead Dreams Booking.

Michael created Dead Dreams Booking in 2017 and quickly began booking shows in and around the Stuart, FL area! Most recently Dead Dreams Booking announced a leg of the Eyehategod Take As Needed For Pain 30 year celebration tour with support from acts like Lybica, Mind Virus, and Iron Buddha. A Little about the headliners! EYEHATEGOD

Eyehategod is an American sludge metal band formed in New Orleans, Louisiana, in 1988. The band's lineup has undergone various changes throughout its existence, but its core members include Jimmy Bower (guitar), Mike IX Williams (vocals), Gary Mader (bass), and Aaron Hill (drums). Known for their raw and abrasive sound, Eyehategod has been a pioneering force in the sludge metal genre.

The band's name, a portmanteau of "I Hate God," reflects the dark and often bleak themes that characterize their music. Eyehategod's sound is a potent blend of sludge, doom, and hardcore punk, creating a visceral and intense sonic experience. Lyrically, their songs often explore topics such as addiction, depression, and societal decay, contributing to their reputation for delivering brutally honest and confrontational music.

Eyehategod gained recognition with their self-titled album released in 1992, which showcased their unique blend of heavy riffs, dissonant tones, and guttural vocals. The band's music is deeply rooted in the Southern metal scene, drawing influences from blues, jazz, and punk, which sets them apart in the metal landscape.

Despite facing challenges such as lineup changes, personal struggles, and legal issues, Eyehategod has maintained a strong presence in the metal community. Their subsequent albums, including "Take as Needed for Pain" (1993) and "Dopesick" (1996), further solidified their status as influential figures in the sludge metal genre.

Eyehategod's resilience and uncompromising approach to their craft have endeared them to a dedicated fan base, and their live performances are renowned for their raw energy and chaotic intensity. The band's impact on the metal scene remains significant, as they continue to inspire and influence a new generation of musicians exploring the darker realms of heavy music.
